The
Bio-based Innovation Student Challenge Europe (BISC-E) encourages students to
explore the emerging field of bio-based work while developing a new bio-based
product or process. Are you ready for the challenge?
The Challenge
All students
( Ba/Ma/first-year PhD ) teams develop a bio-based innovation (product or
process) and present their ideas live in a 15-minute PowerPoint presentation to
a jury of industry and academic experts during the Croatian final. The
presentation must be accompanied by a dossier explaining the sustainability,
technical and economic feasibility of your innovation. The top 3 teams will be
selected for the Croatian final based on the recorded presentation and
accompanying dossier to present to the jury, followed by some Q&A.
Who can take part?
The competition is open to all Bachelors and Masters students (+
first year PhD students). Due to the multidisciplinary nature of the
competition, it is recommended to combine several disciplines in your team, of
which exact science should be one. Team members can come from different
institutions.
WHO is the winner?
Participating in BISC-E23 offers you a
valuable entrepreneurial experience in the emerging bioeconomy, in developing a
new product or process with all its aspects and in presenting innovative ideas
to a panel of experts. In addition, there are great prizes to be won:
First prize: € 1000
Second prize: € 500
Third prize: € 250
If
your team becomes the national BISC-E23 winner, you will be invited to
represent your country at the European final.
